The Toronto Historical Bowling Society (T.H.B.S.) started out in 1983 via a small group of local LGBT people looking to have fun and socialize. We are a fun, equal opportunity league and look forward to welcoming you to our bowling family.
We strive to provide an enjoyable, recreational and social atmosphere for all.
Our league plays out of Bowlerama Rexdale.
Our motto
Fostering friendships, fellowships, unity and sportsmanship
Friendships
Friendships are nurtured. You have to put in the effort, be vulnerable, communicate regularly, little things can mean a lot and exhibit empathy. Strive to cultivate trust, authenticity, mutual respect and support. Avoid negative attitudes and holding grudges.
Fellowships
It’s a friendly feeling that exists between people who have a shared interest or doing something as a group. Being part of T.H.B.S. and the 2SLGBTQIA+ is something that brings us all together as one group.
Unity
It’s just being together on Sundays, at our events and in the community. It’s the opposite of being divided. It’s togetherness and oneness. It’s what makes us Family.
Sportsmanship
It’s an understanding of and commitment to fair play, ethical behaviour and integrity, and general goodwill towards an opponent. We are disciplined enough to have perspective, maintain poise and do what is best for our league. It’s treating everyone with respect and freely sharing our skills & knowledge for the betterment of others.
Good luck and good bowling
In celebration of T.H.B.S.’s 40th anniversary, we released our documentary, “Good Luck and Good Bowling”. Hear from our members to learn about what makes us special.
Our executive
Each year, an Executive is elected by the members. The members of the Executive volunteer their time to ensure the league runs as smoothly as possible.
General Inquiries
Feel free to approach any executive member at any time with any questions or suggestions you may have. We will gladly answer your questions or bring forward your suggestions at our monthly meetings.
